Signs

Have you ever had the universe send you a sign about where it wanted you to take your life? Have you ever ignored that sign and then run head long into KARMA??

Recently, my life on the road had gone sour . . . between blisters, unbearable heat, unbearably hot nights in a sweltering tent, a YETI that still can’t hold up to the temps and everything being warm (DO NOT EAT DAYS OLD WARM BALOGNA!!) . . . my spirits were kind of low. Last night, I had decided to opt out of the desert and head east.

Then the universe sent me a sign!! At around 3 AM, after maybe an hour of finally dozing off, the wind rose, the lightning started and then the tent proceeded to start flapping like a flag in a hurricane!! Needless to say, I did not get any more sleep, and my arse was dragging . . . until dawn!!

The light started coming up under the storm clouds, spreading like fire across the horizon . . . and my heart raced. When I first saw the hoodoos in the Goblin Valley yesterday, I was wondering how they would look in morning light . . . and the universe was painting the sky in fire!!

Here are a few of my captures from this morning!

These are a few of the “Hoodoos” that dwell in Goblin Valley State Park, Utah.
Same Hoodoos . . . just a few minutes later!!
The storm slowly moves across the desert.
More of the Hoodoos and the desert.
The rain caught up to me but just dusted the area with a glittering sheen!
Sorry . . . but I couldn’t keep the Subi out of the scene!! LOL
I turned around and saw this gorgeous rainbow!
A different angle of the rainbow and the butte!
More of the rainbow, desert and butte in the park.
Back to Goblin Valley with the sunrise shining off a passing rain squall.

Since this morning, I have rethought my plans of last night, and I have decided to listen to the universe and continue working my way around the desert . . . as long as the universe agrees to keep sending me sights the ones this morning. Next, I move through Arches National Park and into Canyonlands National Park. Let us keep our fingers crossed that the weather does not get hotter, the nights get colder, and the monsoon rains holds off just a few more days (light rain like this morning are okay!!)

For now, I am in a hotel, with a working A/C, hot and cold shower, a flushing toilet, and a king side bed. I am going to call it a night and see you again hopefully somewhere around ARches National Park.

Good night!
